Abstract
The sixties were a turning point for American culture. There was an outpouring of rejection against societal norms, and this promoted change in many different areas including racism, feminism, anti-war sentiments, environmentally-friendly acts, and more. Music was a quintessential aspect of this decade; proactive artists, meaningful lyrics, and experimentation with sound helped to create a timeless culture. This was an era advocating for peace- something that will forever be relevant until it is achieved.
